The other bill

What Meta charges, and why it is not on our invoice.

Every WhatsApp Business API message costs something to Meta — not to us. Meta bills per conversation, a 24-hour window with one customer, and the rate depends on the country and what the conversation is for.

Every WhatsLayer plan passes these charges through at cost, with zero markup — Trial included. You can see the current rates on Meta's own pricing page for your country, and what you see there is what you pay.

The practical version: a customer who messages you first is usually free to reply to for 24 hours. Messages you start — offers, reminders, updates — are charged, and marketing costs more than a utility message such as an order update.

Service — customer starts
They message you first

Someone asks "is this in stock?". You get a 24-hour window to reply as much as you like. Meta does not charge for these in most cases — which is exactly why a chat widget and click-to-chat links are worth having.

Utility — you start
Order updates, reminders, invoices

"Your order has shipped", "your appointment is tomorrow at 4". Charged, but at the lowest rate, because the customer is expecting it.

Marketing — you start
Offers, launches, re-engagement

A festival broadcast. Charged at the highest rate and needs an approved template. Meta also caps how many marketing messages one person receives per day across all businesses.

Authentication — you start
One-time passcodes

Login and verification codes. Charged at its own rate, with a template format Meta controls tightly.

Billing questions

Before you pay.

What exactly do I get in the free trial?

Every feature, unlocked, for ten days. No card, no sales call. You can connect a number, invite your team, build a flow and send a real broadcast — this is a working account, not a guided demo.

Is there a limit on team members?

No. Every plan, Trial included, lets you invite as many teammates as you need — each with their own login, no shared password.

What happens when I hit the contact limit?

You keep receiving and replying to messages — nothing breaks mid-conversation. You will not be able to import new contacts until you upgrade or remove some. Upgrading takes effect immediately.

Can I change plans later?

Yes, upgrade at any time and the new limits apply straight away. The remaining value of your current plan is not lost.

Do you charge in my local currency?

Pricing is shown in Indian rupees for visitors in India and US dollars everywhere else, detected automatically — use the ₹ / $ switch above if it guesses wrong. Meta's own conversation charges are billed at cost in whichever currency Meta bills you in.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

Your account becomes read-only rather than being deleted, so you can still export contacts and chat history. Your number stays yours — it is registered to your own Meta Business account, not to us, and you can disconnect it at any time.

Try it on real conversations first.

Ten days, every feature, no card. If it does not save your team an hour in the first week, walk away.
